Quondam Abes :: ante diem undevicisimum Kalendas Octobres

I. Ovid. Metamorphoses V, Arachne and Athena.

A. Text could not be located, but we worked with pre-reading strategies.
B. Semantics: Change/Metamorphosis. Student prompt: 10-min freewrite on "What change have you experienced lately? How would you tell that story? Would you say this change was positive or negative...perhaps, indifferent?"
C. Discussion. Each student offered perspective on change. There was a great variety of insights!
D. Students did Clustering (Concept-, Mind-Map, or Stemming) on these three words:

CHANGE
tranformātiō
μεταμορφόσις

Dr. Matteo's personal research assignment: how did forma "morph" from μορφόσις?

On the Dock for Thursday 16 September: AP students, translate Vergil II.31-60; REMEMBER TO SKIP LINES SO I CAN GIVE YOU BETTER FEEDBACK! Latin IV, be ready for more fun (we'll work with the Ovid Latin text, when it is located!).
